Program Overview
Patriot FC Summer Select Program is focused on player development through high-level training with our professional trainers. Practices begin in Mid June and run until early July depending on the age group and program. Summer Select teams, on average, practice twice a week throughout the program.
Each team will have professional trainers assigned to them throughout the duration of the program. Patriot FC trainers will run all the training sessions.
Teams in the program can expect to register for 2 tournaments over the course of the program. No overnight stay required.
Patriot FC Summer Select is not meant to replace an existing team of a player. The program is meant to supplement training and game opportunities for its players. Where conflicts exist, players are encouraged to attend the event with their primary team. Patriot FC is cognizant about disrupting regular season teams.
Our Summer Select Program is a great experience for the player, parent, and coach. Patriot FC works very hard to make this a positive, fun experience.
Player Eligibility & Age Groups
Each player is encouraged to participate in their own age group based on their current travel team. In exceptional cirumstances players may be allowed to ‘play up’ an age group. This decision will be made by the Director of Coaching and coaches of the age groups involved.
Player Expectations & Availability
As a member of the Summer Select Program players will abide by the Patriot FC Conduct Policy for Coaches, Parents, and Players. The club reserves the right to dismiss any coach, player or parent who does not follow the outlined policy.
Depending on the age-group team, 18-20 players may be selected for small-sided teams. For 11v11 teams U13 and older, 20-25 players will be selected. Players can attend every training session. For tournaments, teams are limited to a roster size of 14 for 7v7, 16 for 9v9 teams and 18 for 11v11 teams. The large roster size is necessary to accommodate absences due to summer vacations and other conflicts.
Each player can expect to attend 2 tournaments over the course of the summer. Within reason, each team will consider vacation schedules of its players. Please understand if your child is not available for a tournament, he/she will have other opportunities throughout the program.
Patriot FC reserves the right to not field a team for any age group it feels will have insufficient players for practices or tournaments.
Coaching & Training
Teams are trained by Gavin Flannigan, Patriot FC Director of Coaching and select Patriot FC trainers. Depending on the team it may be necessary for a parent coach to assume the coaching responsibility for tournament games.
Program Costs
The club tries to keep the overall costs of the program low to give players equal opportunity to register. Each age group operates on a non profit basis. Costs per team will vary depending on: age group, number of tournaments, number of players per team and number of practices. Patriot FC will tailor the program around the requirements of a team. We know a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach does not make for a successful experience for players and parents.
